MAIN OBJECTIVES

 

Effective distribution and maintenance of Gulf Air’s (GF) published fares, rules and Reservation Booking Designators (RBD) in Falcon/Sabre and all other Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and Computer Reservations Systems (CRS) through the outsourced fare filing team and the Airline Tariff Publishing Company (ATPCO) Government Filing System (GFS) and Fare Manager System (FMS) to maximize GF revenue, yield and profitability.

 

MAIN DUTIES

 

 

  1. Maintain GF fares, rules and RBD in Falcon/SABRE and all other CRS/GDS.

 

  1. Distribute/file GF fares, rules and RBD effectively to all CRS/GDS/IBE through the ATPCO GFS/FMS and or the outsourced fare filing team.

 

  1. Develop, test and implement new and effective fares, rules and RBD distribution/filing techniques.

 

  1. Maintain records of all filing request (sent/received) for fares, rules, RBDs, YQ, routings, footnotes and add-ons including Public and Private fares.

 

  1. Review all fare filing requests to ensure that GF fares and RBD integrity is maintained.

 

  1. Keep fully updated with the capabilities and developments of the ATPCO systems and filing techniques by regularly attending ATPCO training courses and perusing ATPCO Passenger Tariff Bulletins regularly.

 

  1. Keep fully updated on CRS/GDS fare quoting functionality and requirements by attending user group meetings and reviewing documentation/Websites.

 

  1. Keep fully updated on industry fare construction principles and ticketing procedures.

 

  1. Keep fully updated on IATA Passenger Tariff Coordinating Conference resolutions/documentation.

 

  1. Ensure that systems functionality conforms to the latest industry norms and regulations.

 

  1.  Arrange the filing of GF Staff Travel including (ID/AD/all type of ZED Fares) and all passenger types (including Children/Infants “INS”).

 

  1. Arrange the filing of GF fares, rules and RBDs directly with GDSs filing when they cannot be distribution through ATPCO for any reason.

 

  1. Provide controls to ensure that fares, rules and RBD outputs match inputs.

 

  1. Ensure that fares are distributed by the most appropriate means (i.e.   as Public, Private or Negotiated Fares) to maximize their effectiveness and saleability.

 

  1. Provide assistance to stations, GSA’s and travel agents on fares system auto-pricing and ticketing.

   

  1. Participate in SABRE user group meetings to development and enhance Falcon/SABRE fare quote and ticketing systems.

 

  1. Work closely with the GF Revenue Department on the application of fares distributed to CRS/GDS and output products of ATPCO for the auditing of GF and other airlines passenger tickets.

 

  1. Coordinate with other sections Revenue Management (Flight Control. Interline, Pricing) and the Sales Department to ensure that published fares are accurate, and effectively distributed to all CRS/GDS.

 

  1. Manage and manipulate large volumes of fares, rules and RBD data accurately.

 

  1. Generate comprehensive, customized and timely fares tracking reports.

 

  1. Maintain close liaison, contact and good working relationship with all CRS/GDS, ATPCO and the outsourced fare filing to ensure that GF enjoys the latest distribution technology, lowest costs and the best service.

 

  1. Deputise for Manager Tariffs & Fare Distribution for any matters relating to GF Tariffs, during his absence.

 

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Educated to University Degree. Must exhibit strong analytical and administrative skills as evidenced by the following:

  • Extensive knowledge of airline tariff publications and distribution systems.

  • Extensive knowledge of airline economics, passenger fare/tariff structures.

  • Extensive knowledge of IATA, its procedures and other air transport associations and their functions.

  • Development of plans, policies and objectives to improve Gulf Air’s revenue/yield.

  • Ability to direct the economic analysis of pricing and costing.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 10 years experience with a major international airline in the commercial, revenue optimisation, tariffs/pricing and distribution divisions.
