JOB PURPOSE
Supports the Manager Airside Operations with managing, directing, planning and organizing all activities associated with the
safe and efficient delivery of Airside operations at Bahrain International Airport.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supports with the management of day-to-day operational activities
Supports with monitoring and measuring operational performance against the agreed KPIs.
Enforces national regulations and international standards and recommended practices governing Airside use
Support with the review and update of the Aerodrome Manual
Support with the review and update of all Standard Operating Procedures, advisory circulars, concepts of operation, manuals, etc.
Develops new procedures and other documents as and when required.
Support with the coordination and implementation of the Ramp Operator's Committee
Participates in meetings related to Operations and Safety at the airside and provides input and recommendations where applicable.
Ensures resources available at the airside are sufficient to carry out all functions
Supports with the implementation of department development and career progression for staff
Monitors the performance of Airside Operations staff and ensures all KPIs are maintained; Follow-me, marshalling, VDGS, inspection, spot check, familiarization sessions, Accidents, Incidents, Violations, spillages, etc.
Supports with the review of master plans, project documents, project proposals, and provide comments where necessary to ensure airside requirements are met.
Follows-up on the implementation of training programs for Airside Operations staff.
Supports with the development and continuous review of budgets.
Coordinates with stakeholders for the management of operational activities
Participates in risk assessments and change management to achieve safety in operations at the airside
Ensures oversight over the condition of the airfield in relation to marking, AGL, signage, lighting, and other considerations to highlight any non-compliances and take necessary action with the concerned for resolution.
Supports with the evaluation of manpower requirements, including workload calculations.
Takes necessary action to close findings raised and follows-up on corrective action plans
Participates in audits of Airside Operations, including aerodrome certification audits. Supports with addressing all audit inquiries.
Monitors the implementation of procedures by staff, and ensures that adherence is met, or non-conformities are addressed.
Attends during emergencies to support with the management of activities at the airside in like with the established emergency procedure and the Aerodrome Emergency Plan (this includes disabled aircraft removal).
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Experience
Minimum 10 years' experience in airside operations.
