JOB PURPOSE

Perform all aspects of airside operations while ensuring compliance and enforcing policies and procedures as well as coordinate all matters related to emergencies and special events.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ensure that the aircraft parking stands are free of contamination, foreign objects, debris, and any other things that might affect the aircraft parking ten minutes before aircraft arrival.

Undertake regular inspection of the aprons and report FODs or abnormal events which may take place during the course of each shift to the Shift Leader - Airside Operations.

Monitor the orderly parking of all ground services equipment to eliminate any potential obstructions to operations, impact on safety, and/or emergency services.

Escort non-airport based vehicles in the event of any emergency as per the incident officers’ instruction to and from the emergency scene

Assist in supervising the cleaning of aprons to ensure the removal of any potential FOD material.

Monitor operations at assigned locations (i.e. aprons, baggage make up area and cargo) and record/report any observations.

Monitor vehicle movements on the inner and outer service roads and ensure that all procedures are adhered to by users and that necessary corrective action is taken against violators.

Monitor vehicles speed and ensure adherence to Airside speed limits and take necessary corrective action in cases of violation to speed limits.

Control the RVP staging area in emergency situations and exercises as directed by the Shift Leader.

Carry out inspection and reporting of the conditions of the movement area and report findings related to Maneuvering area to ATC.

Undertake the airport perimeter fence inspection and record the inspection report in the reporting system.

Ensure the safe and orderly evacuation of Passengers and staff assembled at the Airside Assembly Areas from Airside to Landside by the Fire Wardens.

To carry out surveys for management when requested.

To supervise and monitor any engine run operations that take place at the airside

To appropriately respond to and/or report on any fuel/oil spill that occurs at the airside

Assist the Shift Leader in controlling vehicle movement at the airside during low visibility operations (including CATII Operation)

Ensure follow-me escort for aircraft is provided when required by procedures, or when requested by ATC. Record follow-me activities in the system

Ensure that marshalling service is provided for aircraft intended to park on stands without VDGS, or during VDGS failure, or during special parking circumstances.

Provide follow-me escort for all aircraft repositioning activities. Coordinate and communicate with APOC and BAS to ensure timely and safe parking of aircraft, including stand inspection and, if equipped, PLB positioning and VDGS operation. Record follow-me activities in the reporting system.

Conduct regular aircraft turn around monitoring to ensure oversight over handling activities, and record/report any safety observations.

Attend aircraft stand before aircraft arrival time and carry out Stand Operation Checklists.

Carry out vehicle inspections and facilitate process for vehicle permit issuance through Airport Pass Management System through implementation of vehicle inspection checklist

Carry out driving familiarization Monday of every week and facilitate process for driving permit issuance through Airport Pass Management System. Ensure implementation and recording of driving familiarization checklist.

Assist and guide Military, Private, V/VIP, and Cargo aircraft in parking on the middle, western, northern, cargo and executive aprons using VDGS, hand marshalling and “Follow Me” vehicles

Undertake special parking arrangements for VVIP aircraft during state visits as deemed necessary by the Shift Leader

Keep a close eye on the Works Permitted at the airside.

Lookout for any unapproved work and bring it to the notice of Shift Leader.

Ensure that Works happens as per the conditions mentioned in the Work Permit by Appropriate authority

Inform any deviation from the Work Permit to the Notice of the Shift Leader.

Conduct wildlife patrol and dispersal duties, including the diversified use of dispersal techniques and technologies/equipment.

Update the Shift Leader of any abnormal wildlife activities observed within the Aerodrome

Conduct preliminary investigation when bird strike report is received and follow the reporting procedure.

Implement the wildlife carcass removal procedure when required

Coordinate activities related to removal of wildlife such as dogs and cats with Shift Leader, Officer Wildlife Management and Soft Services.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor degree preferable in Aviation or Business Administration or alternatively broad international experience in the field of Airport Operations of at least 3 years.

Minimum Experience: 3 years’ work experience in airport operations. Sound knowledge of national and international civil aviation standards and recommended practices
