MAIN OBJECTIVES
To formulate and implement marketing strategies in line with the overall corporate objectives of GF, and to endeavour to maximise the airlines market share revenue earnings within the cargo Sales Market.
Achieve a single cargo and mail revenue target for the station.
MAIN DUTIES
2. Set Sales Targets by sub-region, distribution channels, market segment, and yield level.
3. Monitor and Analyse performance against target and take appropriate measures.
4. Execute pricing studies ensure Gulf Air’s cargo Rate Pricing practices are sufficiently competitive to achieve optimum levels of revenue and traffic. Submit recommendations for Cargo Rate adjustments to Regional Cargo Manager or HDQ.
5. Monitor the performance of specific Cargo rate sanctions and submit findings and recommendations to Regional Cargo Manager or HDQ .
6. Review on a monthly basis the progress made towards the objectives of the Marketing plans and budgets and ensure that any necessary remedial action is taken.
7. Obtain feedback from Cargo Agents concerning the opportunities and threats in the market, and take appropriate action.
8. Plan visits to key customers, accompanied, by other members of the Company where, appropriate.
9. Develop Cargo Telemarketing sales method to supplement the sales-force and Cargo Agents activities.
10. Set Sales Promotion objectives develop plan and monitor implementation once approved.
11. Establish a PC based marketing information system for prompt evaluation of performance (Traffic Revenue, Cargo Agent accounts, etc).
12. Ensure that Cargo Market information is collected and interpreted accurately. Monitors the productivity of specific Market, principal agents and rate sanctions, on a continuous basis.
13. As requested by Regional Cargo Manager or HDQ on an ad hoc basis, investigate specific new market and undertake special feasibility study projects.
14. Monitor the revenue performance of Cargo Agents, and ensure that GF maximises its market share and revenue results through these market channels.
15. Maintain good relations with the media, to encourage positive press coverage for GF Cargo business.
16. Ensure that the advertising programme is in line with the overall objectives of the cargo marketing Plan.
17. Evaluate sponsorship ventures and submit worthwhile proposals to Regional Cargo Manager or HDQ for consideration.
18. Coordinate cargo sales activity so as to ensure that rates from each point of sales are in harmony with the others. Calculate appropriate rate incentives needed to encourage shippers and agents to deliver their shipments for uplift from an airport at other than their own location.
19. Direct and control a central cargo reservations unit, accepting bookings from all points of sale and directing them to the most suitable flight departure.
Experience
• 8 to 10 years in airline Marketing & Sales and Services Activities, preferable in Cargo area.
• Must have long established and cordial working relations with Airport authorities as well as with all major freight-forwarding companies.
Qualifications
• College Graduate-preferably majoring in Business Administration or Economics.
• PC literate.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
