MAIN OBJECTIVES
The TQ Duty Manager is required to cover Part 145/M Audits, TOR & ASR investigations and ensure all the appropriate airworthiness authorities (BCAA and EASA as well as IOSA) rules, regulations and mandatory requirements are complied with.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Supervision, training (O.J.T) and guidance of all staff that may be placed under his control.
2. Carry out, in accordance with the set programs, auditing of Gulf Air or contracted agents operated aircraft, facilities, related functions and procedures to ensure compliance with Gulf Air and airworthiness authorities standards and requirements. Reporting all significant airworthiness findings and certification matters to the respective Manager Technical Quality in the manner prescribed in the Technical Instruction Manual (GFTP/002).
3. Raise accurate and concise technical and compliance reports at the conclusion of any investigation, or audit.
4. Assist in the examination of staff for the issue of Company Authorisation when requested by Manager Technical Quality.
5. To bring to the attention of the respective Manager Technical Quality any trends or events that may affect the smooth running of the section or compromise the company’s compliance with the responsible Airworthiness Authority’s rules and regulations, or could impact operational safety.
6. Carry out the evaluation of Part 145 maintenance organization and suppliers that are contracted to support GF operations.
7. Carry out investigations into significant defects and/or incidents/accidents related to quality and standards of all GF Aircrafts, their operation and those of its customers.
8. Assist in the investigation of major defects, aircraft incident / accidents or other technical investigations set up by the company, as directed.
9. Maintain proper co-operation and liaison with other groups within the Technical Quality Assurance department to ensure that all aspects of the department are operating as intended.
10. Carry out a regular review of GF Publications particularly the MOE, TIM, QN’S and CAME to ensure that it reflect the current organizational activities and approvals.
11. Assist in the training of Gulf Nationals towards a standard acceptable to the Airworthiness Authorities for a TQ Duty Manager.
12. Assist with the development and maintenance of an effective office filing and records system.
13. Deputising for the Manager Technical Quality when required.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
a. Education to BSc, ONC, City and Guilds standard or license / authorization on Gulf Air aircraft types in at least two categories.
b. Familiar, together with a sound working knowledge of Airworthiness Rules and Regulations (BCAA, EASA, IOSA and FAA).
c. Training on Human Factors.
EXPERIENCE
a. Minimum 7 years airline experience of which 2 years should be in Quality Assurance or related Inspection function.
b. Familiar with Quality & Safety Management and Error Management systems.
c. High degree of integrity acceptable to airworthiness Authorities.
