MAIN OBJECTIVES
The primary goal of Analyst- Network & Communication is to ensure the smooth operation of the organizations data and voice to provide maximum performance and availability for the networking and communication systems. The analysts in Network & Communication is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting LAN, WLAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, creates and maintains network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and projects as needed.
MAIN DUTIES
• Plan and design robust and efficient network architectures based on organizational requirements.
• Consider scalability, security, and performance when designing network solutions.
• Select appropriate hardware, software, and protocols for the network infrastructure.
• Ensure that all technologies are in line with Gulf Air Group strategic direction and plans.
• Plan, design, implement, and support the IP Telephony infrastructure including and not limited to Contact Center.
• Develop and deploy network architectures that meet the organization's requirements for performance, scalability, and security.
• Ensure the ongoing operation of network infrastructure by performing regular maintenance tasks, such as updates, patches, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cybersecurity threats.
• Optimize network performance by monitoring and analyzing traffic patterns, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
• Develop and implement strategies for disaster recovery and data backup to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a network failure or security breach.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures, and provide regular reports on network performance and security.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in network engineering through ongoing training and professional development activities.
• Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation when and as needed.
• Secure network and comms systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access for all required compliances.
• Support and administer firewall environments in line with cyber security policy.
• Register with vendor portal to receive new relates bugs vulnerability, EOL.etc and to take all necessary actions if applicable.
• Provide technical support to end-users and Technology and Digital Services staff for network-related issues.
• All wireless devices should be control through wireless controller.
• Backup should be taken for all devices as per the schedule for all applicable network and communication devices.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and backups.
• Keep hardware and software up-to-date to prevent vulnerabilities.
• Perform quarter health check and make recommendations for improvement.
• Upgrade data network and communication equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
• Work under minimal direction, leads and coordinates the design, development, implementation support and optimization of infrastructure systems that enable and support business.
• Work with other staff as well as independently to provide inventive solution to network and Comms issues once occurred, to use available information and vendor resources, identifying the risks and plan for the precaution actions before issue occurred
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
• Adapt to evolving business needs and technology landscape.x
• Coach and develop the team to ensure delivery of a consistently superior user experience by highly knowledgeable and user-focused agents and to act as the communication conduit between Frontlines and Management.
• Create various documentations as and when required e.g. RFPs for various projects, business cases, tender evaluation, technical reports, project plans, policies & procedures etc.
• Supervise the arrangement of handling all required configurations for Departure Control & Reservation systems
• Interact with management, users and vendors to determine system requirements and solutions.
• Manage, assign, and check the work of individual teams to ensure that all solutions, tasks and projects are achieved on time and within budget related to outstations activities.
• Manage the team call our roster.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Minimum Bsc in Communication and computer engineering or other equivalent IT studies.
IT certification –ITIL, Cisco routing and switching and/or security (CCNA, CCNP and /or CCIE), F5 BIG-IP Administrator, Palo Alto, Huawei ,AWS certified solutions architect associate or any other IT specific certification is an advantage.
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 5 experience in an IT environment
• Experience of managing heterogeneous network on large systems.
• Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service.
• Highest proficiency in both written and oral English language. Arabic language is an added advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of LAN/WLAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as routers, Ethernet switches, wireless, load balancers, VHF, gateways, Voice, firewalls, etc.
• A thorough understanding of the OSI network mode, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking and subnetting.
• In-depth knowledge of LAN switching, VLANs, LAN and WAN management, layer 2 and layer 3 switching
