Main Objectives
The purpose of the position is to manage the revenue performance on a dedicated set of routes and develop pricing strategies in order to maximize network revenue benefit. The role involves working closely with the revenue management pricing staff to ensure that pricing and activities are consistent with route performance and market conditions. This is a junior management level position and entails the management, supervision and coaching of a team of pricing.
Main Duties
1. Develop the pricing strategies on a dedicated set of routes in order to maximize yields and revenue at route and network level.
2. Determine areas of strength and weakness across route groups and make recommendations to management as regards short-term initiatives to maximize opportunities with both regular and tactical pricing.
3. Communicate strategy and initiatives to dedicated pricing personnel and ensure that policies are translated in terms of market and route pricing activity and RBD allocation.
4. Analyze key performance data at flight, route, route group and network level to assess effectiveness of route group pricing strategies in terms of passenger numbers, yields and unit revenues as well as market shares.
5. Liaise, in close cooperation with inventory supervisors/controllers, with Network Planning/Scheduling to ensure that major changes in capacity, schedules and connectivity are communicated to dedicated pricing staff and that appropriate pricing actions taken.
6. Assess dedicated route performance against benchmark key performance indicators.
7. Work alongside other Commercial Route Managers to minimize conflict of interest between regions to ensure maximization of network revenue benefit.
8. Lead evaluation, coaching and feedback sessions with dedicated pricing personnel to ensure that staff are able to effectively support strategies and initiatives across the dedicated set of routes – in the areas of pricing and groups handling.
9. Communicate Revenue Management activity externally to ensure that other key areas of the business – Sales, Network Planning, Airports, Operations, etc - understand and ‘buy-in’ to pricing strategies and initiatives.
10. Work closely with the fares distribution team to ensure that industry pricing and rules norms are adhered to, the required formats/forms are always used and the minimum basic filing requirements/authorizations are met.
11. Prepare ad hoc presentations to communicate major pricing issues and activities to management across the dedicated routes.
12. Approve pricing structures and fare class breakdown and characteristics within established guidelines and authority levels.

Experience
• A minimum of 7 years experience in the field.
• 2 years management/supervisory experience or more would be beneficial.
• An intimate knowledge of revenue management, pricing and industry concepts.

Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in business administration or any financial major or equivalent.
• PC literate – advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• High standard of written/spoken English.
• Strong industry pricing knowledge, analytical capability and commercial awareness.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills.
