MAIN OBJECTIVES
  • Responsible for the controlling, planning and provisioning of aircraft materials associated with scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance requirements.

  • To support the planning responsibilities and performance of the assigned materials team with regards to fleet type support, cabin standards, GF internal workshops, general consumable and expendables, line stations and flight spares kits.

  • Coordinate with Service Providers, Engineering Services, Contracts, Procurement, Technical stores and Production areas to ensure appropriate scheduling, procurement and movement of materials is consistent with operational requirements.

MAIN DUTIES
  1. In support of a dedicated Materials Team, act as a focal point for Material Planning as determined for the designated team responsibilities which will include aircraft type support, cabin standards, general consumables/expendables, GF Internal Workshops, Line stations, Flight Spares kits, Heavy Maintenance Visits and AOG desk.

  2. In conjunction with parts provisioning data, review, analyze and recommend parts required in support of initial provisioning projects for new aircraft delivery and/or Fleet size change.

  3. Carry out regular Inventory reviews including Float calculations and vendor performance in order to ensure base float establishment is adequate to support operations.

  4. Liaise with Service Providers and GF Contracts with regards part inclusion in service contracts as related to pool or home base recommendations.

  5. Control modification campaigns directly related to the designated materials team responsibility. This to include modification kits and component modifications as required.

  6. In conjunction with Maintenance Planning, maintain consistent communication and support with regards pre-load requirements for aircraft maintenance inputs in BAH and overseas. This includes daily liaison and communication with logistics, Technical Buyers, Repair Specialists and Material Expeditors.

  7. In conjunction with maintenance planning, maintenance program and service providers, Technical Buyers, Repair specialists and Material expeditors to ensure that material is available to satisfy life controlled part expiry dates across the fleet as related to the designated team responsibility.

  8. In conjunction with Maintenance Control, monitor material demands on a daily basis as pertaining to current deferred defects and liaise as necessary with service providers, Technical Buyers, Repair specialists and Material Expeditors so as to ensure defects are kept to a minimum and materials are available and correctly positioned to enable timely defect rectification.

  9. Assists the AOG Desk as necessary in the event of an AOG situation specifically related to the designated materials team responsibility.

  10. Maintaining Master Part information data on the Company Approved Inventory control system, including interchangeability authority in accordance with Manufacturers Technical Publications.

  11. Control and authorize component loans & exchanges specific to team responsibility, this to include maintaining a register and expediting parts for removal in order to minimize loan charges.

  12. Attend daily operational meetings as required in support of designated Materials Team responsibilities.

  13. Approve service provider invoices and if necessary raise queries in accordance with agreed procedures.

  14. As directed by Materials Management, undertake Materials projects as allocated and within agreed time frames.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
  • Higher National Diploma ideally with special training in aviation materials management.

  • Familiar with Materials Provisioning terminologies and techniques.

  • Familiar with aircraft technical publications including the Illustrated Parts Catalog.

  • Knowledge of Airworthiness Authority Regulations pertaining to Materials.

  • Concepts of aircraft systems and maintenance activities.

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical materials including planning and control, preferably gained with an existing airline, Maintenance and Repair organization or military aviation.
