MAIN OBJECTIVE

The role's main objectives to assist in identifying and understanding local tax regulations and in finding ways to minimize the company’s tax liabilities. Assist in ensuring that applicable tax regulations are followed to avoid penalties or prosecutions.

Monitor the performance of associated companies and other investments and assist in the administration of these assets, in safeguarding the company’s interests and in maximizing the returns. Analyzing opportunities for new investments and determine their economic viabilities.

MAIN DUTIES

1. Assist in the understanding of various local tax regulations in on and off line stations and determine their applicability to the company.

2. Analyzing the performance of associated companies and other investments and preparing reports on regular basis on issues and developments affecting these holdings.

3. Identifying tax liabilities and problems and render advise on how to tackle these.

4. Studying claims for payments for tax check whether these are in order and assist in filing tax returns with concerned tax authorities.

5. Helping in identifying and analyzing options that may be available regarding the future of investments and assist in the negotiations with potential purchasers or sellers.

6. Assist in the preparation of papers on tax issues facing the company in order to submit these to the owner state.

7. Study and identify areas for potential tax savings and examine the options that may be available.

8. Follow up on the payment of dividends, fees and other entitlements from associated companies and checking are accurate.

9. Analyzing all invoices settled in head office to find whether VAT,GST (goods and sale tax) and other taxes were charged. Identify which taxes are refundable. Compile these invoices and organize data in a systematic way.

10. Work closely with other departments and with station managers and financial controllers to make sure that all taxes that are refundable are indeed regularly.

11. Commenting on draft tax treaties proposed by owner government and other tax issues that are raised.

12. Compile a database on all taxes that are paid by the company or pending worldwide by type, country and year. Prepare this on regular basis including details of amounts involved and charge account numbers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, accounting or equivalent.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

• Knowledge of IATA rules and regulations concerning credit cards/UATP, billing and settlement.
