JOB PURPOSE:
Drive and operate fire-fighting vehicles, Ambulance, rescue boats and equipment.
Controls and extinguishes fires, protects life and property, and maintains equipment.
Respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls. Selects hose nozzle, depending on type of fire, and directs stream of water or chemicals onto fire.
Positions and climbs ladders to gain access to upper levels of buildings or aircraft or to assist individuals from burning structures or aircraft.
Create openings in buildings and or aircraft for ventilation or entrance, using ax, chisel, - crowbar, electric saw, core cutter, and other power equipment.
Protect property from water and smoke damage by use of waterproof salvage covers, and smoke extractors.
Administer first aid and artificial respiration to injured persons and those overcome by fire and smoke.
Communicate with superior during fire, using portable two-way radio.
Inspect buildings for fire hazards and compliance with fire prevention ordinances.
Perform assigned duties in maintaining apparatus, quarters, buildings, equipment, grounds, and fire hydrants.
Participate in drills, demonstrations, and courses in hydraulics, pump operation and maintenance, and fire-fighting techniques.
May issue forms to building owners, listing fire regulation violations to be corrected.
Provide efficient surveillance of the airport for any arising emergencies as well as coordinating communication and dispatching of RFFS and Aerodrome emergency plan agencies when necessary
JOB MAIN DUTIES:
Save life at aircraft accidents and Extinguish Fires
Maintain operational readiness of resources
Prevent occurrence of emergencies through management of Aerodrome hazards and risks.
Mobilise resources to respond to any emergency
Develop self and to improve performance.
In (Incident control Centre) Prioritize emergency service calls to ensure adequate assistance is provided in a timely fashion.
In (Incident control Centre)Monitor a variety of alarm call systems to provide dispatching assistance if needed
In (Incident control Centre)Provide emergency response units with essential information about incidents (location, routes, other responding units, etc.)
In (Incident control Centre)Operate a variety of dispatch communications equipment such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, emergency radios, Enhanced Land
Mobile Radio (ELMR), Telecommunication Devices and computers with software common to dispatching.
In (Incident control Centre)Carry Generate and maintain an accurate manpower status report, incident logs, and all documents for emergency responses.
Carry Out Fire watcher duties by response in Terminal building and investigate all fire alarms and take right decision before evacuating the building.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualification:
Have reached the age of 19 and not exceed 30 as of the date of application
Possess a current valid motor vehicle operator’s permit at the time of appointment
Possess a high school diploma or a certificate of equivalency Pass a scheduled physical
ICAO English level 4
