MAIN OBJECTIVES
Responsible for the negotiation and administration of contracts covering the repair and maintenance services including lease of aircraft spares, required for aircraft maintenance and for all invoices resulting from such contracts. Responsibility will also include carrying out complete economic evaluation of bids received in a tender, negotiate the commercial aspects under the bid with the service providers, and finalise the commercial terms with the successful bidder under the contract. Responsible for the negotiation and administration of contracts covering Technical Services areas in respect of Aircraft acquisition, Aircraft Lease in, Phase out of Aircraft to address the claims to be raised during the Lease period and to monitor and control all issues relating to Technical commercial during the Lease and also as part of redelivery of the Aircraft & Equipment. The repair and maintenance services including lease of aircraft spares, required for aircraft maintenance and for all invoices resulting from such contracts.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Negotiate and administer technical contractual agreements for the maintenance of Gulf Air aircraft, repair and overhaul of engines and components with various maintenance organizations.
2. Analyze all the contracts in respect of Operational as well as economic impacts and benefits in order to finalize the most optimum deal for the Technical Services department.
3. Administer all such contracts during the period and maintain close liaisons with the contracted MRO to ensure contractual performance standard is maintained.
4. Carry out full economic evaluation in coordination with the divisional controllers and finalize the commercial terms under a contract.
5. Continuously monitor the internal cost of in-house maintenance and advice SMMEC on potential cost saving areas. Such work will include evaluating in-house manpower efficiency, material handling process, potential for in-sourcing study etc.,
6. Prepare commercial quotations for submission to third parties for carrying out maintenance on their behalf to generate revenue.
7. Participate in the evaluation, initiation of facilities such as new hangar.
8. In coordination with divisional controllers carry out economic evaluation of new equipment & BFE selection during EIS of new Aircraft types such as Engine, APU.
9. Organize the provision of engines on short term lease required for aircraft maintenance by Gulf Air, which are outside the scope of existing repair and maintenance contracts.
10. Participate in the negotiation of leasing/purchase of Aircraft & Equipment's to ensure appropriate maintenance requirements for lease operations.
11. Recommend acquisition of Gulf Air asset items such as engines and components required by Gulf Air.
12. Service agreements with clients and suppliers to meet contractual obligations related to purchase of services and spares.
13. Ensure service levels criteria for the contract of Maintenance, rotable/repairable provider including but not limited to TAT of Engines & spares .
14. Ensure that correct and controlled procedures are implemented and adhered to for all engines/components loaned or leased and in conjunction with Finance Division ensures financial payment for it.
15. Participate and finalize Technical inputs in the technical major projects such as purchase of new equipment, new aircraft, major modifications, and the use of major maintenance contractors.
16. Participate in the acceptance of new or leased aircraft on behalf of Gulf Air.
17. Co-ordinate and manage the return of leased aircraft to fulfil the contractual end of lease conditions.
18. Responsible for establishing the means for enabling Gulf Air Company to recover any compensation due from evaluation of the aircraft General Terms Agreement, under performance guarantees provided for a specific fleet type.
19. Monitor and administer all claims relating to warranties, guarantees, Lease claims etc.,
20. Authorize all invoices arising from technical work done under the various Maintenance contracts.
21. Coordinate with the SMs and continuously monitor the performance of the department through KPIs and follow up on action plan.
22. Responsible for subordinates KPIs and required to complete all stages of performance management system.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
A professional degree level qualification from a reputed Institution such as CPA, ACCA (Additional qualification such as CIA will be an advantage).
EXPERIENCE
7 to 10 years’ experience in technical division of an international airline including at least 5 years within a Contracts & Projects Department in Supervisory position. Experience in Auditing skills, Aviation related contract negotiation will be preferred.
