JOB PURPOSE
  • The Cargo Capacity Analyst will serve as the central point of coordination for Cargo Movement Control, continuously liaising with the Integrated Operation Control Center (IOC) to provide dynamic support. This role ensures the efficient and productive use of the reservation system, maintaining professional control of cargo and mail across the Gulf Air network to optimize revenue. Additionally, the Capacity Analyst will develop and implement recovery plans during operational irregularities and promptly communicate these plans to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Manage system operations and support services, ensuring timely resolution of issues across head office and field offices. This includes addressing technical and communication network failures in coordination with agents, airports, suppliers, and hosted systems providers.

2.Monitor space utilization and resolve discrepancies.

3.Coordinate with hub stations and GHAs to investigate and address system update failures, reinforcing procedures to avoid costly implications such as delayed cargo, mishandling, and incorrect chargeable weights.

4.Adjust the computerized cargo system to optimize weight and volume allocation for advance cargo bookings, considering passenger count, baggage space, postal mail load, and existing cargo bookings to maximize revenue.

5.Develop strategies for the acceptance of cargo and mail on critical routes.

6.Provide prompt and effective customer support services across the network.

7.Investigate booking cancellations and maintain records to ensure bookings are flown as scheduled, preventing underloaded flights.

8.Investigate complaints related to scheduling, delays, and cargo handling, and recommend procedural amendments to reduce complaints and improve standards.

9.Operate and enhance the Airway Bill Quality Assurance System, ensuring accurate data capture and improved data quality.

10.Make spot rate decisions outside working hours, during weekends, and public holidays to protect business interests.

11.Oversee the operations and development of the cargo reservations system, recommending and coordinating online system enhancements.

12.Manage change notifications related to flight schedules and aircraft types, ensuring consistency and cargo load protection.

13.Arrange alternative routes for shipments that cannot be accommodated on requested flights.

14.Prioritize high-yield cargo shipments on flights with limited capacity.

15.Ensure the cargo system schedule is updated and maintain records of cancellations, downgrades, and rerouting.

16.Maximize cargo uplift by coordinating with all stations and informing them of available space on all routes.

17.Coordinate with passenger reservations for necessary upgrades or downgrades based on demand.

18.Liaise with ULD control officers for any variations from standard aircraft configurations.

19.Coordinate the handling of special cargo, VIP shipments, exhibition goods, and live animals.

20.Arrange cargo protection on other carriers during high seasons or when Gulf Air flights are overbooked.

21.Maintain statistical records of cargo/mail traffic and revenue performance.

22.Coordinate with Gulf Air departments to arrange space for FOC shipments of Gulf Air equipment.

23.Make decisions on behalf of the Services Department outside working hours, including ULD requirements and authority for special cargo.

24.Handle all cargo-related inquiries from system-wide departments, including pricing, sales, marketing, and services, with access to all rates and SPAs.

25.Develop commercial plans to maximize yield and revenue in coordination with revenue management and outstations.

26.Maintain up-to-date flight schedules and capacity data in the computerized cargo system for Gulf Air and other airlines handled by Gulf Air’s agents.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or related field.

EXPERIENCE
  • (0-1) experience in a similar role is preferred.
