JOB PURPOSE

The role is responsible for driving the aviation assets strategy by structuring and negotiating aircraft/engine lease and transaction agreements globally, developing stakeholder relationships, and supporting fleet planning with market/valuation insights.

The role drives profitable growth of the Aviation Assets portfolio through strong stakeholder relationships and effective negotiation of commercial, contractual, and risk terms with manufacturers, airlines, leasing companies, lenders, and financiers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Structure and execute aviation transactional agreements, including trans-border aircraft/engine lease contracts, lease restructuring, aircraft sale and purchase agreements, and lease novations/assignments.

•Partner with Fleet Planning to support decisions on aircraft and engine type/quantity needed for the Group’s strategy.

•Leverage existing relationships with manufacturers, airlines, leasing companies, and lenders to drive business development and deliver solutions.

•Develop new global business relationships with key aviation stakeholders to expand the Aviation Assets portfolio and related opportunities.

•Coordinate and participate in purchase committees for aircraft, engines, and simulators, ensuring financial/commercial alignment with Group objectives.

•Monitor all aircraft and engine lease agreements to ensure compliance with key terms, including termination dates, return conditions, and maintenance/operational standards.

•Negotiate with manufacturers, lessors, lessees, buyers, sellers, and financiers to secure favorable commercial and risk terms, working closely with the CFO as required (including insurance pre-conditions and maintenance conditions).

•Conduct short- and long-term market studies for aircraft and engines market values and fair values using advanced analysis and benchmarking.

•Ensure that contractual terms and conditions in aviation lease agreements are properly fulfilled across Legal, Insurance, Operations, and Technical stakeholders.

•Coordinate with Treasury to ensure timely payment of rentals/lease obligations to avoid interest charges and minimize payment risks.

•Manage and oversee audit requirements for Aviation Asset Management by coordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure readiness and resolution of findings.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or equivalent.

•A masters degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

•Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the fields of accounting, finance including 5 years of which are in Senior Management Positions

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

•Strong aviation asset finance knowledge (aircraft/engine leasing, sale & purchase, novation/assignment)

•Advanced negotiation and contract management skills

•Strong understanding of lease terms (termination, return conditions, maintenance/operational standards)
