MAIN OBJECTIVES:
To implement Gulf Air’s Summer/Winter Schedules on the short term with emphasis on minimization of cost achieving most effective utilization of resources.
To control and distribute planned Gulf Air schedule for the current season and co-ordinate the planned operation with all internal GF departments to ensure maximum revenue benefit to the company. To implement schedule changes to gain advantage from all possible revenue opportunities.
To optimise the current schedule with all possible changes and aircraft utilisation in coordination with network planning.
Responsible to maintain an optimum slots portfolio for Gulf Air.
MAIN DUTIES:
1. Implementing of Gulf Air seasonal summer/Winter short-term schedule changes to gain advantage from all possible revenue opportunities.
2. Liaise with Network Planning to evaluate demands trends, identify customer’s needs and seasonal capacity variations to develop optimum schedules.
3. Ensure efficient coordination with Flight Operations, Technical, Joramco, Planning, Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, Customer Services to strike balance between optimum uses of resources versus revenue earning potential.
4. Manage and coordinate slots and secure the requied slot for all GF network schedule for short term plan.
5. Represent Gulf Air in IATA, AACO Schedule meetings and ensure necessary slots are secured.
6. Continually review and revise the schedule to match supply of travel with anticipated demand in coordination with Network Planning.
7. Implement the schedule Optimization in coordination with Network Planning, thereby maximizing revenue and minimizing costs.
8. Manage and ensure Engineering and operational requirements in the short term are complied with thereby not compromising the safety of Gulf Air operations.
9. Coordinate any changes both within GF and with external authorities to ensure that these changes are handled in an efficient manner.
10. Implement changes if required for extra flights on seasonal basis in short term planning stage such as Haj, Ramadan Umrah, F1, Teachers movement, Iraq Arafa and Arbaeen movement, etc.
11. Represent Commercial Planning in any schedule related forums.
12. Liaise with country manager concerning their schedule requirements and wherever it is practical/ justifiable to implement any changes to the schedule.
13. Handle any short notice requirements for schedule changes, as a result, of Engineering, Crewing constraints or VIP movements, national emergencies, etc. and ensure that GF interests are protected and minimal disruption to the core schedule.
14. Development of Gulf Air seasonal summer/Winter schedules based on agreed route and frequencies and fleet plan. Provide scheduling options by making capacity adjustments to accommodate change in market conditions.
15. Develop and implement any changes critical to the realization of the schedule taking all issues into consideration, including but not limited to future fleet deployment, rotational feasibility, future slot availability, crewing constraints and heavy maintenance, thus ensuring that Gulf Air operating goals are realized.
16. Maintain Gulf Air network slot portfolio and participate in negotiations with airport slot coordinators and airline schedulers to secure the most optimum slots for Gulf Air or recommend solutions to slot congested Airports. Appraise slot values at various slot constrained airports.
17. Co-ordinate with the respective Civil Aviation Authorities in countries where Gulf Air operates and ensure that each seasonal schedule is approved as filed.
18. Coordinate with Publication to ensure that accurate information is displayed in sync in all these schedule distribution systems.
19. Provide and maintain GF aircraft utilization/ASK/seat/aircraft count data and comparison on current and planned season on monthly basis manner.
20. Responsible for current seasonal fine tuning and schedule recovery within control period of schedule planning.
21. Responsible to ensure business cases are in place for any unplanned changes due to technical reason.
22. Monitor delays allocated under commercial division and raise any dispute if found.
23. Maintaining data in slot sets for the current planned season during the season and maintain data accuracy.
24. Maintain constraints data in schedule during the planned current schedule to be able to plan flights with no violations at airport or equipment level.
25. Maintaining record of current Fleet technical status.
26. Oversight and maintain record of charter flights for all the required approvals and following to ensure securing all approval before the commencement of operation.
27. Prepare Business Cases for all current schedule changes and maintain a record containing the type of changes; i.e due to commercial, mainteance, operational, etc.
EDUCATION:
University degree in Business Management; Mathematics is preferred. Degrees in Aviation, Statistics, Economics, or Logistics are also considered.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 7 to 10 years with airline’s commercial planning/scheduling, slot portfolio development and slot valuation, Schedule publication or distribution and operational experience in the airline industry plus management training.
