JOB PURPOSE
  • To ensure Gulf Air’s medical services are safe, high-quality, and compliant with NHRA and civil aviation requirements. The role oversees quality, compliance, and clinical standards across the medical centre.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Regulatory Compliance & QMS Management

  • Develop, implement, and update the AMC’s Quality Management System in accordance with NHRA accreditation standards and civil aviation authority frameworks.

  • Strategic Planning: Align the center’s operational growth strategies with Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) regulations and National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) healthcare standards.

  • Ensure all medical evaluations (Class 1, 2, 3, and Cabin Crew), OPS medical manuals, and aviation kits on aircraft comply with aeromedical regulations.

  • Act as the primary point of contact and host for external audits conducted by civil aviation authorities and healthcare accreditation bodies.

Auditing, Risk Management & CAPA

  • Schedule, execute, and document regular internal audits across clinical GP services, specialized aeromedical tracks, pharmacy, and laboratory departments.

  • Design and execute the center’s master risk management framework to identify and eliminate clinical, operational, and data privacy hazards.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks, compliance gaps, and medical errors.

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and manage the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) program to prevent recurrence of errors.

Clinical Governance & Data Integrity

  • Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and quality control of all specialized medical equipment (e.g., audiometry, vision screeners, ECG machines).

  • Enforce strict data governance, ensuring pilot medical records and examination results are handled with absolute confidentiality and data security.

  • Monitor and report on clinical quality indicators, patient satisfaction metrics, and turnaround times for medical certifications.

  • Incident Command: Convene the clinical review board to direct investigation procedures for severe medical errors, clinical anomalies, or patient complaints.

Regulatory Authority Liaison & Ultimate Legal Liability

  • Regulatory Shield: Serve as the official, legally accountable executive during complex institutional audits by the NHRA.

  • Licensing Security: Safeguard the center’s official operating licenses by ensuring 100% compliance across all Class 1, 2, and 3 pilot medical certification pipelines.

  • Policy Enactment: Prepare and legally validate all internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), clinical guidelines, and healthcare safety policies as per NHRA requirements.

General Practitioner (GP) Care Quality & Oversight

  • Oversee the delivery of standard General Practitioner (GP) medical services, acute primary care, and routine health consultations within the center.

  • Ensure clinical guidelines, prescription safety protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for general practice are followed by all medical staff.

  • Manage patient triage systems, chronic disease management protocols, and primary care referral networks to optimize general patient care.

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Train clinical staff, nurses, and Aeromedical Examiners (AMEs) on quality protocols, compliance updates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Foster a culture of safety, open error reporting, and continuous clinical improvement across the entire facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree of science nursing & Master of Science in Nursing degree, or an equivalent major in the related field.

  • Certifications: Train the Trainer, Triage instructor, Basic life support.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the related field.

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Deep understanding of healthcare compliance, medical terminology, NHRA Diamond Accreditation, and basic familiarity with civil aviation medical standards.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and excellent cross-functional communication abilities.
