JOB PURPOSE
Legal Affairs Department is responsible to ensure that all legal activities of Gulf Air Group Holding B.S.C.(c) (GFG) and its direct and indirect subsidiaries (the "Group") are carried out in according to all related local and international rules and regulations; in a manner consistent with its status as one of the key elements of the aviation industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and that its relationships with governments, organizational and individuals are on a sound legal basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Handling and reviewing the Group's legal activities, including drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, other legal documents, and various regulations conducted by the team.
• Identifying and addressing potential legal issues and risks relating to current activities, operations, strategic initiatives, and litigation management.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
• Controlling and monitoring current contracts to avoid governmental fines and penalties.
• Acting as the point of contact with the Contracts team to provide legal review and comments on new and updated contracts within the Group.
• Working closely with all teams to provide legal support and advice for business matters.
• Reviewing complaints and inquiries submitted to the Legal Affairs Department.
• Preparing periodic reports outlining achievements, obstacles, and proposed solutions to support the continuous improvement of the Legal Affairs Department.
• Providing legal support to the Human Resources team on employment matters, including drafting employment contracts and related documentation.
• Keeping up to date with applicable national and international laws across all countries in which the Group operates.
• Undertaking any other responsibilities assigned by Top Management.
• Drafting and reviewing legal contracts and other legal documents.
• Negotiating contracts independently or under the supervision of the line manager.
• Advising management and departments across the Group on legal matters, including commercial law, civil aviation law, employment law, regulatory matters, and litigation.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of all related information.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified lawyer with a Bachelor degree in Law.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience of legal work.
