JOB PURPOSE

To advise on employee relations matters to safeguard the interests of the Group by ensuring it does not commit itself to any unfavorable obligations and complies with the applicable laws, regional and international practice. Furthermore, to participate in investigation committees to ensure well-being of the Company through compliance to applicable laws, Labor laws and Company’s rules and regulations and to solve employee matters amicably to maintain positive environment. Moreover, to deal with and ensure employee relations documents, Company’s schedule of penalties and procedures are legally acceptable and in accordance with the applicable Laws.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in Committees to carry out investigations and to ensure acting in line with the applicable laws.

  • Draft investigation committee’s formations letters, minutes, opinions, recommendations and reports, warning letters, terminations including appeal, suspensions, etc. (Arabic and English) to ensure that it carried out in accordance with applicable laws and Company’s policies and procedures and legally acceptable.

  • Deal with management to solve matters amicably and to be aware with it to be corrective rather than punitive.

  • Provide consultations and solutions for employees to resolve conflicts or problems with colleagues amicably.

  • Assist all Departments and Divisions with disciplinary procedures and disciplinary actions and advise upon any queries from functional Managers on employee and disciplinary matters.

  • Investigate with staff in case of violation in line with the station’s laws and in coordination with Legal Affairs Department, where duty travel might be required.

  • Render legal advice and opinions to the Company on Board of Review (FORB) and employee relations matters on disciplinary matters and ensure that it’s in compliance with Labor law and Company’s rules and regulations and don’t violate the company’s rules and regulations.

  • Draft correspondences to the Ministry of Labor with regards to employee relations matters.

  • Review and ensure that the schedule of penalties and procedures are in order with the Company’s rules and regulations and does not have conflict with the Labor Law to ensure that they are legally acceptable, favorable to the Company and according to the applicable laws.

  • Negotiate in favor of the Company with unions and concerned parties.

  • Prepare files and Employee Relations statistics to keep accurate records of disciplinary actions taken on all levels and update records of all cases and maintain the Employee Relations filing system, with consideration of utmost confidentiality.

  • Extend require assistance and achieve any task assigned by the direct supervisor related to the field.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in law from internationally recognized university and preferred high degree with specialized knowledge in Bahrain Labor Law and disciplinary procedures.

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in legal practice, Labor Law, Labor Disputes, policies, disciplinary procedures, and regulations.

  • Experience conducting investigations, disciplinary proceedings, grievance handling, and employee conflict resolution.

  • Experience interpreting and applying labour laws, company policies, and disciplinary procedures.
